A selection of Brazilian naive artists will be shown in a collective exhibition of the Art & Design Gallery, in Miami (USA), from October 4 to 14. Bringing together different trends and artists from different regions, the show aims to give visibility to Brazilian art in one of the most important art world markets .
At the invitation of the artists Roberta Agostini and Ana Grassi, the articulators of the project in Brazil, the Galeria Brasil Naif, directed by the artist and journalist Clara Clarice, brings to the exhibition works by 5 celebrated naive artists: Alexander Pacheco and Vera Marina from Rio de Janeiro, Erlei Pereira, from Minas Gerais State, Stephanus and Con Silva from Sao Paulo and Arivanio Alves, from the State of Ceará.
They are works with diverse subjects, some awarded in international naif art events in Brazil. According to Clara, the project "is an opportunity for the American public get to know other aspects of Brazilian art in addition to Modernism, which dominates the Brazilian art exhibitions in the United States, because it is linked to the great markets of the center from the country. However there is much more than Modernism to see in Brazilian art and in the rich diversity of styles and trends in regions so diverse. In this sense, Art Naif stands out for having this peculiarity of being closer to the roots of Brazilian culture and the representation of our landscapes, stories and imagery. "
Located at a strategic point of intersection between the North and South of Miami, the Arte & Design Gallery that holds the exibhition is situated between home furnishings, antiques and lighting specialized stores in an art, decoration and architecture mall.
